Major General Butler testified to congress in 1934 of being approached and bribed by corporate plutocrats to lead 500,000 veterans to overthrow FDR, as Roosevelt's New Deal policies threatened the interests of business. This speech, subsequently published as a booklet, outlined in detail the true nature of American foreign policy as the primary vehicle for militant commercialism.
